I am having. Living on ship gets pretty repetitive sometimes, especially
during long stretches at sea that last well over a week. Today, however,
I have been pleasantly surprised by how well things have been going. And
here's why:
1) We got woken up this morning to drummers walking down our hallways.
2) They had cocoa pebbles at breakfast. I am a cereal ADDICT at home,
but all of the cereals on board thus far have been Kelloggs brand. As
anyone with a gluten problem knows, these people like to unnecessarily
add malt to EVERYTHING. And so, I sit drooling over corn flakes that
from any other company would be fine, but here aren't. But this morning
there were cocoa pebbles! I was so happy I could have cried.
3) It's Neptune Day! Basically, this means there are no classes and
instead our Dean dresses up as King Neptune and the whole ship
participates in a series of initiation rituals to celebrate us crossing
the equator. I got slimed and kissed a fish, but passed on the head shaving.
4) It was our first taco day! This is quite the wonderful change from
eating potatoes for every meal, and the Chef actually made us a GF
version for the 6 celiacs on board :).
5) My parents got Dain and I sweedish massages from the wellness center!
It's only 2pm, so I'm pretty excited to see what the rest of the day
holds. So far, it's been an excellent day in the Atlantic Ocean :).
